  Quick Start
Place and connect the Arm and Leg Sensors and the Handles in the order indicated in the image below.

  Bodypad... in details :
   - Legs Sensors
   - Arms Sensors
   - Belt Module
   - Handles
   - Receiver Box
Menu

  Legs Sensors
Adjust the Legs Sensors: above the knees, at the rear of the thighs.
Place each Leg's Sensor so that it is pressed when you flex the leg.
The elastic band must be adjusted so that the Sensor remains in place when you flex or extend the leg.
Back

  Arms Sensors
Adjust the Arms Sensors: above the elbows, inside the arms
Place each Arm's Sensor so that it is pressed when you flex the arm.
The elastic band must be adjusted so that the Sensor remains in place when you flex or extend the arm.
Back

  Belt Module
Clip the Belt Module: at the belt, in front or behind you
When clipped behind, the cables connecting the Belt Module with the Sensors are almost invisible.
When clipped on the front, you can seize the cables more easily, connect them and adjust their lengths (see below).
Back

Connect the 4 cables of the Belt Module to the Arms and Legs Sensors and adjust their lengths.
Connect the arms cables to the Arms Sensors (2 pins connectors)
Connect the legs cables to the Sensors Legs (1 pin connectors)
Then adjust the lengths of the cables by turning them around the Belt Module so as to be able to extend the arms without tensing the cables or making them too loose.
This adjustment is important to prevent punches or kicks to strongly pull on a Sensor or on the Belt Module. This adjustment can be kept for subsequent uses thanks to the mini-clips of the Belt Module

  Handles
Grab the Handles and connect them to the Arms' Sensors.
Use the bands to maintain the Handles comfortably and to be able to open and close the hands freely.
Back

  Put the left Handle "ON"
A red light indicates that the left Handle is "ON".
This Handle contains a Radio-Frequency transmitter. It allows to send the BODYPAD signals up to 10 meters from the console, even if there are obstacles in the way (like pieces of furniture or a person).
This allows you to move, jump, turn on yourself with great freedom, alone or with other players! But be careful and keep your distances with the objects around you or with your game partners.
This transmitter functions with three included 1.5 V batteries.

  Receiver Box
Connect the Receiver Box to the console
The BODYPAD Receiver Box can be connected to a console as a classic controller. The BODYPAD was conceived to preserve all the advantages of a traditional controller, including the use of memory cards.
The light on the Receiver Box should flicker.
Back

  Adjust the BODYPAD :
   - Adjust the RF channel & Multiplayers
   - Adjust the Bodypad according to the game
Menu

Adjust the RF channel & Multiplayers
Put the same channel in emission (on the left Handle) and in reception (on the Receiver Box)
When the radio connection is established, the light on the Receiver Box ceases flickering and remains lit continuously.

Multiplayers & BODYPAD
To play with two or more players with several BODYPAD is an unique experiment: you virtually kick and punch your partner and see the impacts of your blows on the screen.
When playing with two players or more, each BODYPAD must choose a different radio channel.
Up to 4 BODYPAD can function simultaneously!
Back

Adjust the Bodypad according to the game
Adjust the Receiver Box according to your game, your character or your preferences!
You can adjust the signals emitted by the arms, the legs and the triggers ("T" buttons located on the front side of the handles) with the 4 positions (Triangle, Square, Circle, Cross // A, B, X, Y) sliders located on the Receiver Box.
You can play with BODYPAD on most fighting games because you can choose the values of the signals emitted by your arms, your legs and the triggers of the Handles, and thus adapt to the gameplay of your game or favorite character.
Example: if in your game, your character gives a punch with the right arm when you press the Triangle of your controller, you just have to indicate on the Receiver Box that to your right arm sends the Triangle signal.

  Action buttons
The arms, legs & triggers signals of the Playstation Bodypad can be set to Triangle, Circle, Cross and Square // A, B, X and Y
The starting position of the arms is a " in guard " stance, arms bent as indicated on the figure below.
By extending the arm, you emit the signal of an Arm Sensor. Your adjustments on the Receiver Box make it correspond to a punch (or a strike of sword or any movement using the arm). In a fighting game, you just have to extend your arm to make your character punch.
By flexing the leg, you emit the signal of a Leg Sensor. Your adjustments on the Receiver Box make it correspond to a kick (or a jump or any movement using the leg).
In a fighting game, you just have to flex the leg (and then possibly extend it) to make your character kick.
Each Handle has on the front side a trigger marked with "T". While pressing on this button, you send the signal of the trigger button.
The signals of the arms, the legs and the triggers can be adjusted on the Receiver Box and each one can take the values Triangle, Circle, Cross or Square // A, B, X or Y.

  Other signals
Moves : At the top of the left handle, is a directional button enabling you to move your character.
L1, L2, R1, R2 // L, R, white, black: At the top of the right handle, 4 buttons can send the L1, L2, R1, R2 // L, R, white, black signals.
Start, Select // Start, Back: These buttons are located on the top side of the Receiver Box.
Warning: Only the latest Bodypad version has analog sticks

  Tips :
   - Remain in a "in guard" stance
   - Games menus navigation and accidental signals
   - Warm up and smooth boxing
   - Mimic your favorite characters
   - Performance
   - Use the triggers
   - Simultaneous blows and combos
Menu

Remain in a "in guard" stance
Remain arms flexed, same as a boxer stance, in order not to send accidental punch signals.
Also remain the arms flexed when giving kicks.
This habit is exactly the one of boxers: if you loose this stance the price will be the sending of unwanted signals (those of the arms) with the ones of your kicks... Think of it!
Back

Games menus navigation and accidental signals
Once you put the game in the console, use the "Start" and "Select" // "Start" and "Back" buttons located on the Receiver Box to launch the game.
Use the directional button of the left Handle and the signals of the arms, legs or the ones of the triggers (according to your adjustments) for the game menu navigation and confirmations.
In order not to confirm a choice with an accidental signal, keep the arms constantly flexed or constantly extended during the launching of the game and during the navigation.
To limit the accidental signals, BODYPAD ceases sending any signal continuously activated more than 10 seconds.
Back

  Warm up and smooth boxing
You do not have to go fast to launch blows with BODYPAD. Take time to warm up (and rest) while boxing smoothly. Launch distinct arm & leg blows.
While proceeding this way, you will quickly gain in coordination, and go from simple blows to complex combinations of blows that you will then be able to carry out at the speed you want.
Back

  Mimic your favorite characters
BODYPAD works with a great variety of movements. You can for example punch with a jab or a hook. Use this to mimic more closely the fighting style of your favorite fighters and dive even more into the game!
Kicks and punches given with amplitude will guarantee a very realistic, immersive and sporty game.
To further increase the virtual reality feeling and get even more the logic behind the movements of your characters, also mimic their jumps and crouches (which are generally carried out by the movement button) as well as their body movements (turned over, torsion's etc.) by carrying out small movements accordingly.
Back

  Performance
In order to gain speed and to improve your performances, shorten the movements of your arms or legs. Doing this, you will also rest your articulations.
Back

  Use the triggers
Adjust the triggers ("T" buttons of the Handles) so that they send signals that ease up your play. Use them with your arms and your legs (for example make legs combos by using triggers and legs).
In addition, if you wish to remain sat down while playing, adjust the triggers signals so that they replace your legs ones.
Back

  Simultaneous blows and combos
With BODYPAD you can perform with realism a great number of combinations and complex blows of fighting games. You can thus go very far in your favorite games. Using your body adds even a new skill dimension for the most demanding gamers.
Use buffing* to facilitate your combinations of simultaneous blows.
For instance, if a special move requires that the signals of an arm and a leg are activated simultaneously, extend first your arm, then keep it extended as if you were grabing your opponent. Finally, give a kick with the knee: you will have at this time, the arm and the leg activated simultaneously and the combo will be successfully carried out.
(* : in a game with buffing as long as you press a button, the signal of this button remains activated. This can help to make combos by adding other signals)

Main difficulties and solutions :
    - Instruction manual difficulties and solutions list

Warning : Only the latest Bodypad version can send analog sticks signals. The Bodypad version without stick signals is not thus appropriated for the games requiring them. Please note that you can often use the D-Pad or the action signals instead of the analog sticks.

The Games section of this site details of the settings & explanations of games. Do not hesitate to send us an email if a game you are interested in is not in the list.
